Special Sermons Preached by Pastor Bob
Why a Separate Page?
I preach approximately 45-48 Sundays every year, conduct 4-10 weddings or funerals (each requiring a sermon or meditation), and possibly 0-5 other times when a sermon, talk, etc., is needed. In other words, I write a great deal in the course of a year.
While I do my best to give equal time in study, preparation, writing and practice to each Sunday's sermon, the variables of life throw curve balls constantly. Some sermons turn out better than others! I've known this for the past three decades of ministry. But with the advent of a simple means by which to record each Sunday, now I can see the difference!
This page is dedicated to placing a few of the better sermons I feel I have preached since beginning the video recording process in the Summer of 2011. Please feel free to visit PresbyTube on my congregation's website to see my latest sermons. Or, visit the Sermon Index Page on this site to look for a specific sermon or scripture lesson I used when preaching since beginning these recordings.
Finally, I welcome your comments. Both positive, critical, or suggestions for improvements. While God has gifted me with these talents, the Lord has also granted you the ability to share your insights, and I welcome you to do so. May we each be enriched in our faith for doing so!
Sermons in response to the Boston Marathon Bombings on April 15, 2013
04-21-13 "Miracles" from Acts 9:32-43
04-28-13 "Repentance" from Acts 11:1-18
The Boston Marathon is an annual New England tradition which impacts the entire region, not just Boston and its suburbs. The sole NH television station always sends a news and sports crew to cover the day. Local NH newspapers run stories about area citizens who train for and run the race. Just as important are the spectators, especially the family members and friends of the runners, who travel to Boston to witness the event. These sermons provide a Christian faith response to the tragic bombings which marred the event in 2013.
"Signs!" from Gen. 9:8-17 & 1 Peter 3:18-22 (2-26-12, Lent 1B)
"Hungry!" from Luke 24:36-48 (4-22-12, Easter 3B)
"Many Factions ~ One Lord" from 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11
